Treasure Floats are a fun variation of the standard float that Bob first did to hold a nephew's beach treasures. You can seal whatever "treasure" you'd like inside of a glass sphere to have on display!

Colors are usually kept to the lower half of the Float, but can be arranged in other patterns if desired.

When a Float is broken off the blowpipe, an opening remains in the piece from where the pipe was. The opening of a traditional float is sealed with molten glass to make the float air- and water-tight.

For the Treasure Float, that opening is left open, and then is ground smooth once the piece is cooled. A separate glass "cookie" is made, is also ground flat to mate well with the float, and is then attached to the opening of the float to seal the person's "treasures" inside.

Standard coloring is our "Ocean" mix - a combination of primarily Teal with a few other blues and greens added for depth. Optional colors include the addition of a little White for a "splashing wave" effect, or a little Cobalt Blue if you want it a little darker. Or, if you want entirely different colors, pick that option and email us with your choice!

You can order your Treasure Float empty to "fill your own" - then place whatever you'd like inside (see slideshow on bottom right for directions). People have been extremely imaginative as to what they've sealed inside!

But you can also get your Treasure Float pre-filled, though. We fill it to about 1/4 to 1/3 of total capacity, and use an interesting mix of sand and various shells, agates and fossils found on our local beaches - we guarantee that all contents will be native to our stretch of Pacific Ocean beach!
