Treasure Floats are a fun variation of the standard float. You can seal whatever "treasure" you'd like inside of a glass sphere to have on display.

The top area of the Treasure Float is left as clear glass so the contents can easily be seen. Whatever color pattern is used goes around the sides of Float.

When a Float (or any other piece) is broken off the blowpipe, an opening remains in the piece from where the pipe was. The opening of a traditional float is sealed with molten glass to make the float air- and water-tight.

For the Treasure Float, that opening is left intact, and is ground smooth once the piece is cooled. A separate glass "cookie" is made, is also ground flat (for a good fit), then attached to the opening of the float once the person's "treasures" are put inside.
